Yonkers Tennis Center salutes the 2010 recipients of the 2nd Annual Joseph Curto/ Yonkers Tennis Award For Commitment to the Spirit & Principles of Tennis through the City of Yonkers Public Schools.

2010 recipient:
NINA ABRAHAM and SAMUEL JACOB

NINA ABRAHAM and SAMUEL JACOB, both graduated from Yonkers High School in June and each received $500 towards their college expenses.

The award was created in honor of Joseph F. Curto, a long time Yonkers entrepreuner who co-founded the Yonkers Tennis Center in 1971 and recently passed away this past June. Mr Curto was passionate about his home town and supportive of young, talented students who strive for excellence on and off the tennis court.

The club has a Community Development Committee which meets the first of every month to review requests . Though we receive many more requests than a small company like ours can accommodate , we do our very best to help. Areas of focus are centered on public education , children’s issues locally and access to the wonders of tennis and it’s effects on and off the court.
