News from USTA Eastern
What a Racket!
This summer, the New York
Sportimes of World Team Tennis and the USTA Eastern section are making
it that much easier for kids to play tennis. The first 3,000 kids coming
out to see John McEnroe and the Sportimes play at Randall's Island for
their seven July home dates will get a free racquet, compliments of the
Sportimes and USTA Eastern.

This week Yonkers Tennis Center is
participating in a truly
unique "tweetup" in Irvington at the XV
Motorsports Showroom featuring a panel discussion around the idea of
"Driving Community: Bringing Social to Main Street" as well as holding
raffles to raise money for the Abbott House, a local Irvington
agency that provides support and services for neglected and abused
children. |

Clean Winners Meet Nigel Brown
 A certified pro with the
U.S.P.T.R and Tennis Coaches Australia, Nigel is a long-time favorite
of the kids (and adults) at Yonkers Tennis Center. Nigel will be
here running all of our camps this summer. A former Jr.
Development Officer for Australian Capital Territory Tennis, he has
coached in Connecticut at the Fairfield and Trumbull indoor
clubs and the Country Club of New Canaan. |

Tennis Center Serves Up Summer Camp Options for Everyone!
Pre-QuickStart: A one hour per
day opportunity for 4 through 6-year-olds. Players will be split into
age and level-appropriate groups and are guaranteed to have fun while
learning.
DailyTennis Camp: Age and ability
divide students from beginners to advanced players. 9:00 A.M. to 4:00
P.M., Monday through Friday. 1/2 day and full day sessions
available. Six to one Player/Professional ratio
Intensive Tennis Camp: Designed to
provide the highest quality instruction geared toward improving every
aspect of the players game including technique, strategy, footwork and
match play.
